A grassroots music movement is exactly what the industry needs, and it hit me recently—Extra Chill can help lead the charge. We’ve always been about community, authenticity, and real connections. Now, it’s time to scale those values.
Let’s face it—blogging alone doesn’t cut it in 2025. People are scrolling, watching, and craving quick, engaging content. For a long time, I was afraid to put myself on camera. But at 31, building a sustainable life feels way more important than worrying about what others think.
As long as I remain authentic, what I’m doing will resonate with the right people. The wrong people will see themselves out.
What are you talking about bro?
The blog isn’t going anywhere. Writing is in Extra Chill’s DNA. But now, I’m creating content that matches how people connect today—snackable, shareable, and impactful.
If you follow us on Instagram, you’ve probably seen some of this. Just know there is a lot more where that came from. I’m ready to expand this thing, and moving to Austin was the first step.
Austin is inspiring in ways I can’t even fully explain yet. The grassroots spirit here is thriving—it’s the perfect home base for expanding Extra Chill and connecting with others who share this vision.
What happens next?
Here are a few things in the works:
- Expanding our Austin events calendar through a partnership with DICE.
- Creating an Extra Chill App that allows people to read articles AND post in the forum without a web browser.
- Building a DIY band merch store for local artists to sell their merch—think DIY Shakedown Street.
- Covering local shows and festivals like SXSW, Bonnaroo, and ACL in 2025.
The End
I could go on, but I know we all appreciate a quick read. For now, check out extrachill.com to see what we’ve been up to, and join the Extra Chill Community Forum to connect with our grassroots spirit directly.
What do you think? Could Extra Chill help to redefine the music industry? Hit reply and let me know—I’d love to hear your thoughts!
